Health guru & ex-Chelsea FC nutritionist Kyrin showed her true colours in relation to this weekend’s Champions League final while Kyle kept the new music alive with her Featured Artist, Umphreys McGee. Check out Kyle’s website ‘Bands On The Bubble’, it’s way groovy…yeah baby!

Lora and Sam from the Orange Tea Theatre Company popped in before the 8:00 news to tell us about Stag, their new production dealing with the aftermath of “a lifestyle of free-wheeling debauchery”. Yes, we channeled Rolf Harris on this morning’s show and created several masterpieces destined for 1000 Drawings just in time for their charity event this Friday at the Brakke Grond. Organiser Kim van Poelgeest and volunteer, Gail, joined us after 08:00 to tell us about the initiative which is raising money for Fairpen. Follow our example and submit your A5 drawings, doodles, paintings, charcoals, watercolours, or whatever, but make sure it reaches them before Friday. If you’re lucky you may go home with one of the pieces we drew this morning. Matt C drew the EBR Monday team as aliens hovering above earth, Naomi took inspiration from the Nieuwe Meer and Cathy drew a radio sound desk (including panic button).

Colour me happy - we talk 1,000 paintings with Kim van Poelgeest after 08:00. He helps run this annual charity A5 art swap that we can all participate in. We will be making EBR’s submission live on the show.

Queens Day Swimmer

Studio 1 was rocking this morning with songs from The Black Keys, Talking Heads, Steppenwolf, and Kyle’s pick of the week, Cale Parks. We talked about our Queens Day antics and coincidentally, the Dutch word of the day, “Feest Beest” meaning Party Animal, was appropriately applied to our conversation. Lots of sports talk with Uncle Frank and considering all the big matches happening this weekend, it is such a pleasure to be informed by Europe’s finest football commentators.

We poked fun at Birthday Boy David Beckham by playing a cheeky skit about the Funny talking Football Stud and his Spice Girl and finally, we gave a gig guide to all our awesome listeners including Experimental Pop Artist Matthew Dear playing at Paradiso tonight and Young the Giant playing at Melkweg on Saturday. Tune in Next week for a live studio performance and interview with Jula Aimée, a cutting edge Indie Jazz singer from Amsterdam who will be talking with us about her upcoming performance at Canvas on May 13.
