Lord Paul

April 16, 2012 dj

Today’s programme was dedicated to Paul Nolan Miralles, an Irish Amsterdammer, Photographer and Waiter at the Hard Rock Café, who sadly passed away 1 year ago, on the 13th April. Paul was a great music-lover and had very varied taste so we had a fine choice of tunes that were special requests from his friends, family and girlfriend; from Dire Straits to The National – and a very special song written by his brother David and performed by his cousin Ciaran Nagle, entitled ‘Amsterdam Man’. Natalie remembered a good night at the Paradiso with Paul to see Tunng so we played their track ‘Jenny Again’, and there were many other songs we just didn’t have time for.

Paul’s sister, Anne, called in at the end of the show to share a bit more about Paul (AKA Lord Paul), his life in Amsterdam, his cheeky red cards at the Hard Rock Cafe, to say thanks for all the support his family and friends have had, and to give us a heads up on an exhibition of Paul’s work in Dublin in the near future, which should also come to Amsterdam (when it does we’ll let you know).
